Developed from a research project pioneered by Soup, Transmissions was realised as an audio-visual showcase exploring the rich heritage of the first radio broadcasts within the North-west of England. Working with the Lowry Theatre and the university of Salford, a short performance was produced as part of the MediaCity launch event. It’s impossible to think about this project and not think about Robert Robson, who’s enthusiasm for Transmissions was such a huge driving force for us and for the project as a whole.
