EDITORS | IN THIS LIGHT AND ON THIS EVENING | ARCHIVES

What began as an experiment with a broken Sony Trinitron monitor (roll on running a studio like an art school), then developed into a teaser campaign for Editors’ third studio album, In This Light and on This Evening way back in 2009.

Mainly all chopped analogue bits with some After Effects jiggery-pokery (Motion Math was all the rage back then…), we combined a load of footage from the band, self-shot during recording, along with outtakes and snippets from our past music video work with them, finishing off with a lofi London skyline shoot (changed somewhat since then). The band were incredibly gracious in letting us play with all the stems from the recording, so we could have a good mess with isolating sounds and using them to trigger the visuals. The joys of playing 🙂
